First Weigh In - Day 8

Weight 270.5

Well, I am down 7.5 pounds. I slowed down a bit in the weight loss but some of that, I'm sure, is because of being at the ball park and my eating schedule being disturbed. We should only have a few days of this. I had two weight watchers bagles with fat free cream cheese for breakfast. This only contained one gram of fat so I didn't use one of my alli pills. I am going to save that one for when I go to the ball park because I will undoubtedly want some sunflower seeds at the ball park. I plan on going to subway to eat a late lunch right before we go to the ball park so that I can avoid the external hunger issues by being sure there are no internal hunger issues. Hopefully that will help.

Day 7 on Alli

Weight - 271
Today I had another test. We had a special lunch today because one of my best friends had her last day at the school that I used to teach at. We ate at R.J. Gators. I was very good and impressed myself once again. I didn't get to eat breakfast because we had to get up and moving due to batting practice this morning. At RJ's I had the house salad with ranch dressing on the side. I took the suggestion of dipping the fork in the dressing instead of adding it directly to the salad. I barely made a dent in the dressing that way and it was good. It is unreal the difference in the amount of dressing that stayed in the cup. I also had the Half grilled chicken quesedilla. I best calculatede the meal at 365 calories and 15 fat grams.

Then I attended a celebration at our school in recognition of receiving an A for a school grade for 06-07. Yeah for us. Of course they had this delicious purple cake that I managed to pass on. Once again amazing myself. I have my weigh in tomorrow and I want to be sure there is progress.

Tonight my son has his first game in the district tournament. I am going to make sure that I take an Alli pill so that I can partake in my usual sunflower seeds. I use these to keep from smoking an entire pack of cigarettes when he is on the mound. I have a funny feeling that we will all be going out to dinner following the game but only time will tell. I will just keep my fingers crossed that we go somewhere that is alli program friendly.

Well, the bad news is we lost the game horribly. But, the good news is I did very well at the ball park. I ate two dill pickles from the concession stand and my typical sunflower seeds. That seemed to keep me content hunger-wise. After the game we stopped at subway and I ate a turkey sub. All totaled my calorie count was 745 and my fat grams for the day were 35. My calorie count was quite low and that made my percent of calories from fat higher than it has been. We'll see how my body reacts to that with the Alli. I sure hope I don't experience my first TE's. Only time will tell.

Day 6 on Alli

Weight - 271

When I awoke this morning, I felt much better than I did last night. The strange sensations that I was experiencing seemed to be gone. I am wondering if they were more part of my menstrual cycle than anything else. I started this morning with one of my omelets on an english muffin. It came to a grand (and I use that term lightly) 262 calories and 2 grams of fat. To boost up the fat content a bit I also had a WW ice cream sandwich. This brought the calorie and fat content to 402 and 4 respectively.

We had a light lunch so I didn't take any Alli. We made personal pizzas out of fat free pita bread with some spaghetti sauce, veggies and fat free mozzarella cheese. They were quite yummy. My younger son had his last practice before the district tournament. One of the parents ordered pizza for the kids and the parents. I was so very good. Although I left before they dove too deep into the pizza. I came home and ate my very low fat eggplant parmesan. It was okay but not something that I would make on a regular basis. Since I was so good today and resisted temptation, I did treat myself to one macadamia nut cookie that I made for the kids. It only had 11 grams of fat and didn't put me over my calories or fat.

For the whole day I had 21 grams of fat and 1314 calories.

Day 5 on the Alli Plan

Weight - 273

I was so happy to see that my weight had not changed since yesterday. We went out to eat and I tried my best to eat as healthy as I could. Substituting celery for fries and eating just a drop of ranch dressing on each piece of celery. I was very proud of myself.
This morning we went to the gym at the Freshman Campus and worked out for 30 minutes. It felt so good to get up and moving. Then we all went and got hair cuts. I got mine cut wicked short for two reasons: First, it is much cooler when I am walking in the afternoons and second, it was looking so raggedy when I was working out. This will make me feel and look better. I did stop in at the donut connection (right beside the hair salon) and peeked at what they had. I opted to pass and eat my breakfast at home.
I am already beginning to notice a difference in my clothes and I am only on day five of the Alli Plan. This makes me want to keep going in the worse kind of way! Feeling better and looking better are even better than the weight loss itself.
I had breakfast when I got back from the gym. I had two weight watchers bagels with fat free cream cheese. That only contained 1 gram of fat and 360 calories so I also had a weight watchers ice cream sandwich to try to meet my calorie and fat goals for that meal. I kind of find it comical that I have to work to eat more calories and fat. Go figure! All total I had 3 grams of fat and 500 calories for breakfast. I am so glad I passed on the donut connection.
I ended up taking a nap in the afternoon and didn't eat lunch. I did take another Alli pill before I went to the ballpark so that I could eat some sunflower seeds. I have been experiencing some strange sensations today. Light headedness and a nagging pain between my shoulders. I am attributing that to the workout this morning. I am going to watch carefully after reading that one woman had some heart issues when taking Alli.
For dinner I had half a boneless, skinless chicken breast, about a half of a cup of stove top stuffing made with fat free butter and a large serving of broccoli with fat free butter and a little fat free cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. It was a decent meal that allowed for some dessert afterward.
All total today I had 1365 calories and 18 grams of fat.

Welcome to my Blog

This is my first post to my blog. A special thanks to lisa82367 from the Alli message board. You gave me a good reason to start my first blog. I am going to work on other blogs for my students as well.

Who knows what all this will bring!

I started Alli on Saturday June 23, 2007 and am already seeing weight loss. I have been on a low fat / calorie diet for quite some time now. I use many of the tools that I've gotten from weight watchers along with the alli program. One problem I am having is the opposite from most folks. I find that I am wayyyy under the recommended fat grams. I actually have to really look through the foods I have bought for myself to get a little fat into my diet. I am sure that as I adjust to this whole program the plan won't be so difficult to follow.

I am hoping to keep a running tab of my weight loss so that I can show off my success.
