A little gain today but I had the chili with that had some ground beef. I guess a little splurge isn't going to totally kill my plan. I enjoyed it and I'll hop on back on track tomorrow. Today my mother is really having difficulty remembering where she is and other factors about her life. She thinks that my dad's funeral was just a week or two ago and he's been gone for over 20 years. We have spent most of the morning reorienting her and showing her her orientation board and posters on the wall to put her at ease. She is so worried about her house, her pets (that my brother is tending to), her kids ... and even the deceased. It just amazes me sometimes how the human mind can play tricks on a person.
Above is a picture of my older son who was able to come up with me to Ohio. My younger son is still in Florida practicing for the state baseball tournament. While up here, Tommy went to Cedar Point with my neice and her husband. He had a fun time but think he would have had more fun had his brother been there with him. We may go back when Timmy comes up after states.
I'll probably be back later to add more to this post.
Well, everyone except for my sister that lives here has gone home. Ahhhh ... finally a little time to relax. Even though it isn't my house, I feel that I need to work around the clock to keep it clean with nine people tooling around. Tomorrow the volunteer from hospice will be here during the day so my son and I will go and explore the wonderful towns of Huron and Sandusky. Then we will go to Firelands so that my son can see where his aunt Sue works. It will be nice to get away and relax a bit.
My mom had a very confusing afternoon. This was expected because so many people were coming and going. She seemed to change decades with each person that walked into her room. She went from times before I was born (keep in mind i am 43 years old) to yesterday. Asking for things that she insists she brought here that she hasn't had in many many years. My sister, neice and I are getting pretty good at keeping her calm and redirecting or reorienting her but my oldest brother really has a hard time when she goes through those bouts of dimensia. Sometimes it is very heartbreaking yet others you have to walk out of the room and laugh. It has been quite the emotional roller coaster here. LOL.

Personally I think you were entitled to a little splurge. You're going through a stressful time so a bit of comfort food was probably good for you!
I agree with Annaliese, comfort food is good for you!!
God bless you and your family!
